My Kitchen - Part 1

Being an artist, and faux painting my clients homes and businesses all day - I don't often have the time or energy to add my creative touches to my own home.  However, I recently moved into a home that was built in the 1970's - and it was in desperate need of a "face lift".  Here is what I have done with my kitchen counters and back splash.

~ 1970's Butcher Block Formica Counter tops - Before, also note the dark cabinet color ~

~ Kitchen Counter tops After ~

~ They have been faux painted to look like granite ~

~ And I've added pressed copper tiles for the back splash  ~

~ I'm pretty pleased with how the counter tops, back splash, and painted cabinets have all come together ~

My Kitchen - Part 2

And here is my "new" kitchen.  "Ta-Da"!
A definite improvement over the 1970's orange and yellow chicken wallpaper.

This type of a "face lift" gives whole new life to a room.  And it costs FAR less money than replacing the cabinets and counter tops.

Playworks

Playworks, in Redlands, allowed me to come work some magic with a long hallway.  They wanted a "Bug Garden" theme.  Here's what we came up with.  I think it's quite whimsical!

Little Girls Room

This design was created for a little girl's room... but it could certainly be done for a creative nursery!

Inviting Bathroom

Here is a Guest Bathroom whose colors were inspired by the slate tile and copper metallic sink.

~ The walls were a blend of glazes over a muted green, to go with the slate tile ~

~ The ceiling was painted copper with metallic to compliment her copper mosaic sink, which you can see in the next picture ~

~ The room was finished off with detail in the corners of the ceiling to compliment the detail in the lighting fixtures ~
